- Heraclitus
Heraclitus
Up and down, they are quite the same,
If not cyclical, then what?
Oh wise one, pray tell
What path leads where,
And what to do about a fork?
"All things come to be
In accordance with this” reason.
By nature, we live by opposites.
We know of who we are,
By whom we are not.
If there was a river,
And stepped into it twice
It will not have been different
Only if it were universally the same.
Change, the continuum of time,
Let it not stop.
philosophy , unity , greek , opposites

well I kind of get it...not sure about the stepping in the river twice bit!..."I am what libraries and librarians have made me, with little assistance from a professor of Greek and poets"...whey hey M!..this is far removed from 'fields of hog millet' and 'Cotter Bridge arches' etc but just as interesting my friend...

Just a little something that was in my head, Pete...and true...a departure from my usual. Thanks.

Well-written and deep. He was a Greek philosopher wasn't he? Interesting change of style from some of your other stuff, M.
