- My Everest
Glorious daydreams provoke
the little known truth that leaves wonder
"Perhaps we could spend the day together"
But only if I could gather the courage to speak
Behind the barrier of discontent
I try to hide from the inevitable
refrain:
My time is running short
My time is running short
But I only have one request/This is the part I detest
Will you...
Will you...
Stirring beneath the grey sky
I found this silence is like a virus
No words carry through the atmosphere
Falling onto the anvil of ignorance
I have wasted enough time now
But I'm too anxious to care
repeat refrain
So how will this all end
So how will this all end
So how will this all end
If only...
If only...
Oh if only...

The repetition in the refrain and the disillusion really. Yep, I'll be Agatha in no time!

I love Trent!!! I have to ask, what made you think of him? Oh, your work is brilliant. I swear by it. Just remember even Agatha Christie had to wait a while before she was appreciated!

I've been settling into University really, managed to contribute a fair amount to the student paper and got a piece being printed in a county magazine next month. I tried my hand at getting a short story published in Ink, Sweat & Tears but got shot down, so still trying to crack that - I think adverb overuse has become a habit I need to kick, leave more to the imagination and all that. Anyway nice lyrics! Reminds me of something Trent Reznor might write (hope you find that a compliment)

Christ, an accessible poem/lyric that I enjoyed writing! I have more to publish, including a piece of prose called "Years" and a few poems, one of which is called "Topaz Kingdom"(which is a part of a Neil Young-influenced concept piece).
