"Noble deeds and hot baths are the best cures for depression"
Dodie Smith
"Depression is not sobbing and crying and giving vent, it is plain and simple reduction of feeling...People who keep stiff upper lips find that it's damn hard to smile"
Judith Guest
"This is my depressed stance. When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this"
Charlie Brown
"Insanity is knowing that what you're doing is completely idiotic, but still, somehow, you just can't stop it"
Elizabeth Wurtzel
"What annoys me the most is being characterised as a 'manic depressive'. Anyone who knows me personally knows I am a cheerful person. We all get depressed at some point in our lives; it's fucking natural. And most of us just move on. The supposed 'cure' isn't disregarding the past. It's acceptance. Knowing what to do correct next time. Ignorance sows the seeds of all forms of depression. Like instantly judging someone who you don't know; the whole cleansing of self image"

Life is balanced by how you deal with certain situations. You can be equally poor and abound in opulence; the feelings that are held inside are the real masters of our lives. It doesn't take money; material gain; even Love. It's about how you are able to move on. Some people are unable to move on. Some are driven into deep depression and eventually take their own lives. It is not admirable. But then, we have the right to die, as we have the right to live. Though suicide is a form of cowardice and ignorance. Especially to those left behind. Some people do not have a second skin. They let things get to them; problems that other people may be able to shrug off. That doesn't mean they are 'manic depressive'. They just have a different way of dealing with things.
