Within and deep sits yellow flame, which is but small,
In natures ken the wise man feeds his plants on good,
There then is he that waits the harvest fine,
Then goes to see a better light when comes the time.
If apart the food is dry and bitter to the taste,
Then find the harvest vile and darkness takes his sway,
Yet all is not yet lost if seed be still within,
For in the dark brings forth a shoot then all begin.
So see the wonder of nature’s ways and hold them dear,
For they are good and clear, then makes the prudent wait,
For he that waits and opens his eye sees the light,
Or lest he try to quick is blinded by the brilliant bright.
There then is all in front to find, for sage or seer,
Take what is small, and grow by word of book and pray,
Pray well upon thy time for short it be, as flame will show,
Then this is what you need, as the wisest man will know.
