are you coming back? when I wrote you in July I'd opened a new account not realizing I could reactivate my old one (which I did and then deleted my new one) so you may have thought I've gone away again, but nope - still here!

Hi Luke! Just letting you know I'm back on tc! Are you still in China? Any news on the publishing front?
:-)
I am not sure I would be very good in any kind of intellectual discussion about China, from within it doesnt really offer up any chance to critically observe.
I did ask a girl about the stories they told children out there though, and told her about Goldylocks. She said "they dont tell stories like that out here, when I was young I was told that the Japanese are evil and they kill our people."
It kind of killed the mood.
China? You're in China? Wow! I hear they're big on censorship there. :P I don't know if you're on facebook, but a friend of mine is a PhD student (should defend soon) and his work has to do with China and he's spent a lot of time there. He's super nice so if you want to get into any kind of intellectual discussion about China I'm sure he'd be happy to oblige.

(I'm into networking, but no offense taken if you wish to ignore me)
:-)
I havnt found a chinese computer with a connection up to playing the Mark Everett stuff yet, but trust me, I will watch it when I find anything near decent. And yes, I'll join in the challenge :p
Hey Luke! Fancy joining in the Bards challenge? http://www.tailcast.com/article-revival-of-the-bards-26158.html?coming=recent-1 We're doing it within the group setting this time so I it should be successful. Eleven have signed up so far!
btw In case you didn't realize I'd posted the link to part I for the actual Mark Everett video in the "duality" discussion here it is: http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/entertainment/watch/v15491416CPsP3prx#
Second half (which starts off with Schrodinger's Cat!): http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/entertainment/watch/v15491418TjtAqzfg
Yup - tis him! It isn't just about physics, he talks a lot about his strange family too. It's a very well-done and interesting doc. It's about an hour long. If you go to the Nova website you'll see him straight away. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/manyworlds/ btw
Mark Oliver Everett? Mr E?
He is, as much as a man may be, a god. I bought my belle his autobiography last year, but have yet to steal it from her to read it.
I think it is certainly something I will check out, thanks for the heads up.

It is not many who know the works of Cy Twombly...and I must mention we share a love of Hemingway. He kept it simple, and is yet so complex.

Luke, you are most kind. You have a fine ear for reading and writing. Listen to it.
